Each ammo maker who also sells their own stuff will be noted in the short paragraph under each.
Federal
Federal is a subsidiary of Vista Outdoors and is one of the largest ammunition manufacturers in the United States. They make many different kinds of high-quality ammunition for all purposes based from target practice to self-defense to hunting.
Federal Sells their ammo on their website, and it can also be found throughout the United States when there isn’t an ammo shortage, in many different retailers.
CCI (Blazer)
CCI and Blazer is also a subsidiary of Vista Outdoors that makes good quality ammunition for handguns. CCI is one of the biggest rimfire ammo makers out there, and CCI also make primers for ammunition.
Their website does sell ammunition on their website, and it can also be found in retail locations and other online retailers.
Remington
Remington was one of the oldest and biggest ammunition manufacturers in the United States but that changed later in 2020 when Remington’s assets were auctioned off to high bidders for acquisition.
Vista Outdoors, the owners of Federal, CCI/Blazer, and Speer won the Remington bid and now they fall under their ownership.
Speer
Speer is another one of the Vista Outdoor ammunition manufacturers. They sell directly on their website and are known for making high-quality defense rounds for both handguns and certain rifle calibers, like .223.
They also make the Lawman line which is good for target practice.
Winchester
Winchester is one of the biggest and oldest ammunition manufacturers in the United States. They don’t just make ammo, they develop new cartridge’s like their new 6.8 Western and the 350 Legend released a few years ago.
They do not sell ammo on their website, but they can be found in every retailer throughout the nation when there isn’t an ammo shortage.
Geco
Geco is a registered trademark of RUAG Ammotec and makes a wide range of different types of ammunition in a multitude of calibers from pellets to handgun ammo to shotshells, to rifle cartridges.
GECO is one of the top European ammo makers.
Tula
TulAmmo is a relatively large steel-cased ammo maker based out of Russia. Made popular by AK47 shooters, even making .223 Remington and 9mm Luger cartridges, these lower cost alternatives work well in a pinch.
Wolf
Wolf Performance Ammunition manufactures both steel and brass cased ammunition.
Bear
There are a few different types of “Bear” ammunition, with a color designation. For example, the Silver Bear ammo is a steel cased cartridge with a zinc coating to help with corrosion resistance. Brown Bear is a steel case with a polymer coating.
Then there’s Golden Bear ammo, which is a brass coated steel cased ammo. They’re all Berdan primed, but because they’re steel cased they’re generally not considered to be re-loadable. The Bear ammo is made in Barnaul, Russia.
Norma
Norma is an old Swedish ammunition Manufacturer who has been around since 1902. Norma is another one of the RUAG registered trademarks and they make ammunition for a wide range of different platforms to include rifle, shotgun, and pistol.
